Sunday
Club News
At the time of publishing
the Sunday Club has met
three times since our Christmas
holiday. Already though, The
Nativity and all our Christmas
planning and party fun
are just a memory.
Thank you all for your kind
remarks after
our Nativity performance.
It seems most of you enjoyed it, and
despite some pre-performance
nerves we did too.
David was unable to be there
on the day thanks to his
work with us in the preceding
weeks we managed very
well on the day I think.
The next few weeks will see
us looking at the promise
of God. The God who is able
to accomplish far more than
we can all ask or imagine.
The theme begins with the
Story of Jonah and the whale
and although it is comical
it is a great reminder that
God doesn’t always do what
we expect.
Next time, we’ll use Mark
1.21-28, “Jesus takes
charge” to examine God who
gives authority which
will give us a chance to
reflect on how the teaching of
the churches today may also
be about discerning true
authority as we listen for
what God wants to say.
We’re very lucky to be able
to use the Roots programme
to give us ideas on how
to prepare all our lessons and
teach them in a way that
is appropriate for the children,
so they have fun and enjoy
their time with us in Sunday
Club.
